The Southern California Marine Association has elected six prominent marine industry leaders to its 2010 Board of Directors. The six newly chosen Board members will begin serving three year terms of office on July 13. Incumbent Board members winning re-election are: Bruce Brown, Bruce Brown & Associates and Dan Klaas, Hipp Marine. Returning to the Board after a several year absence are Jim Hendricks, Affinity Group/Publishing and Bob Leach, Eliminator Boats. Serving on the SCMA Board for the first time will be Dave Hemmingson, Dave's Custom Boats and John Mouw, Miller's Landing.

"The membership has elected another outstanding and very representative slate of new Board members, "commented SCMA Executive Director Dave Geoffroy. "Of the six new Board members, we have two marine dealers, an editorial director of a large boating publication conglomerate, the owners of two boat manufacturing companies and the owner/president of a marine manufacturer's rep company. All of these individuals have demonstrated their knowledge and commitment to our industry and will only enhance the effectiveness of our Board. I'm confident that we have an outstanding group of leaders at the helm of our association."

At the July 13 regularly scheduled Directors meeting, SCMA will nominate and vote for new president, vice president, secretary and treasurer offices among the 15 member 2010 Board.
